The Jasper County Health Department is a public health department with nursing, environmental and behavioral health services serving residents of Jasper and surrounding counties. The Behavioral Health division provides outpatient mental health treatment, substance use disorder treatment, DUI and Risk Education services and have consulting psychiatric services for psychotropic medication needs of our clients. We provide diagnostic and outpatient treatment services and case management as well as medication training and monitoring. We have the following 2 positions available in our Behavioral Health Department:
Full Time Substance Use Therapist/Counselor: Master’s degree in human services field or CADC required. Job duties include: • Utilizing ASAM criteria in assessing consumers, establishing diagnoses, developing treatment plans collaboratively with consumers by defining goals, specific outcomes and time-frames for treatment. • Providing counseling and clinical services to consumers • Providing crisis intervention to stabilize consumer's condition by utilizing short-term crisis intervention techniques and/or referral to other support services. • Plans, develops, and facilitates group programs to be used with consumers.
Assistant Director: Minimum position requirements Master’s degree in human services field, Clinical Experience, State of Illinois Licensure (LCPC or LCSW) eligible. Job duties include: • Assisting Director of Behavioral Health in meeting requirements of accreditation and funding sources • Provides for orientation, supervision, and ongoing training of all behavioral health professional and support staff • Assists with development and maintenance of policies, procedures, goals and objectives for each behavioral health program • Provides leadership for all division staff • Performs public relations functions as appropriate • Providing counseling and clinical services to consumers
